The school wanted to build on the foundations of the previous service while strengthening the partnership through a more flexible, responsive, and forward-looking cleaning model. With three main campuses to support, the challenge was not simply about routine cleaning. It was also about improving presentation standards, creating greater consistency across the estate, and raising team morale so that the service could better reflect the quality of care and education provided by the college. 2 ## Mobilisation & Solution ICS Cleaning Services worked closely with Norton College to develop a tailored cleaning service designed specifically around the needs of the school and sixth form environment. Drawing on our experience in the education sector, we introduced a structured and adaptable approach that focused on raising standards, improving communication, and creating a more motivated and supported cleaning team. By collaborating with the client, suppliers, and on-site staff, ICS was able to review the existing service, identify areas for improvement, and put in place a more effective cleaning model that aligned with the college’s expectations. 3 ## Delivery Model The service was delivered across the college’s three main campuses, with cleaning schedules designed to provide reliable day-to-day support while remaining flexible around the needs of the school. ICS deployed cleaning staff to cover teaching areas, communal spaces, welfare facilities, offices, and circulation areas, ensuring each part of the estate received appropriate attention. Supervisory oversight and regular communication with the college helped ensure the service remained responsive, allowing adjustments to be made where needed and giving the client confidence that standards would be maintained consistently across all locations. 4 ## QA Approach Quality assurance was an important part of the service, with ICS focusing on both visible results and the overall consistency of delivery across the college estate. Regular monitoring and close communication with the client helped identify opportunities to improve standards and strengthen the service over time. Alongside this, ICS placed strong emphasis on team engagement and morale, recognising that a supported and motivated workforce plays a key role in maintaining high cleaning standards within an educational setting. 5 ## Outcomes As the service developed, the overall appearance of the college improved significantly, helping to create a cleaner, more welcoming environment for pupils, staff, and visitors. Standards became more consistent across the three campuses, while the morale of the cleaning team improved through a more positive and collaborative approach to service delivery. The result was a stronger long-term partnership and a cleaning service that better reflected the high standards of care, professionalism, and educational excellence associated with Norton College.
