Following the loss of a well-loved colleague in 2015, the team at ICS Cleaning established the annual Theresa Keelty Shining Star Awards in her memory and have been recognising members of the team for excellence in their work ever since.

Theresa Keelty worked for ICS Cleaning for many years and worked her way up the career ladder to become an Area Manager, working predominantly from the head office in Neptune House, Hull.

Christine Turner, Managing Director of ICS Cleaning, said: “Theresa was a very well-loved and central character of our team and her loss was devastating to us all. We are proud to keep her memory alive within the business and this year we are delighted to present her award to members of our cleaning staff from our three regional hubs.”

This year’s winners are Jane Walker for North Humberside, Victoria Hill for South Humberside and Tracy John for West Yorkshire.

Jane recently stepped down from her supervisor role to look after her mum but wanted to stay on as a cleaner and stand-in for the new supervisor when needed. Tracey Wood, Operations Director for ICS, commented: “Jane has been eager ever since we first took over at Norton College and she has built a great relationship with the customer. They recently sent an email to say a big thanks and that nothing is too much trouble to her. She will have a little grumble about the mess the children leave to be cleaned up, but she just gets on with making their environment perfect for the next school day.”

Victoria works at Castor Grammar School in Lincolnshire, a client since July 2019. At the time of the takeover, the site was severely understaffed, with just four out of the original thirteen. Victoria was willing to take up the challenge and was promoted to site supervisor. Joanne Cottrell, Area Manager Commented: “Victoria worked hard and through her commitment, the staff we had on site were willing to work extra shifts to cover all the areas needed, whilst we grew the team to be fully staffed. She is a strong leader.”

Tracey from Outwood Academy in Wakefield started as a cleaner and after our chosen supervisor didn’t work out she approached ICS to see if she could apply for the role. Tracey Wood commented: “Tracy has since built a great team environment, has a strong relationship with the customer and the staff and hits any issues head-on with effective outcomes and professional service for our client.”

Congratulations to you all.
