Our People
Our operatives, supervisors and management team are the core of what we deliver. Here's how we invest in them.
Cleaning is a people business. The quality of a cleaning operation depends almost entirely on the individuals carrying it out — their reliability, their training, and how well they're supported by management. That's why we focus significant effort on how we recruit, train and retain our teams.
ICS Cleaning employs its operatives directly. We don't rely on agency staffing as a primary model. This allows us to invest in consistent induction, ongoing training, and the kind of relationship between operative and supervisor that reduces turnover and sustains service quality.
Our Approach to People
Direct Employment
All operatives are directly employed, not agency-sourced. This gives us full visibility, accountability and continuity.
Training & Development
From induction to role-specific COSHH, machinery and safeguarding training — operatives are equipped before they start.
DBS & Safeguarding
All staff working in education settings are DBS checked and receive safeguarding awareness training.
Staff Wellbeing
We invest in reducing turnover by treating staff fairly, providing proper equipment and offering progression routes.
Career Progression
We actively promote from within. Many of our supervisors and area managers started as site operatives. We provide structured progression routes including supervisor training, mobile relief roles, specialist cleaning accreditation and team leadership development.
