Academy Trust Transition & Deep Clean Programme

ICS Cleaning was appointed to deliver cleaning services across multiple academies within a large multi-academy trust operating across Yorkshire.

The mobilisation required the transition of cleaning services across a number of primary and secondary schools, while ensuring that standards improved immediately and that the start of the new school term was fully supported.

The project also involved working closely with existing site teams, managing the transition of staff, and delivering deep cleaning across several academies during a limited Easter holiday window before pupils returned.

The Trust required a cleaning partner capable of mobilising quickly, maintaining safeguarding standards, and providing consistent operational management across a geographically spread group of schools.

ICS Cleaning implemented a structured mobilisation programme to ensure a smooth transition of services across the academies.

The project involved the onboarding of over 60 cleaning staff across the schools, supported by experienced supervisors and regional management to provide consistent oversight.

Working closely with academy leadership teams, ICS carried out deep cleaning programmes during the Easter holiday period to reset cleaning standards across classrooms, corridors, washrooms, and communal areas before the new term began.

The mobilisation also included the deployment of professional cleaning equipment across the sites, including vacuum systems, carpet extraction machines, and specialist floor care equipment to ensure each academy was fully equipped to maintain high standards moving forward.

Cleaning services are delivered through locally based teams supported by supervisors and regional operational management.

A structured cleaning schedule was introduced across all academies, ensuring consistent service delivery while allowing flexibility for each school's operational needs.

Each site is supported by trained cleaning operatives working to defined cleaning specifications covering teaching areas, sports facilities, offices, washrooms, and circulation spaces.

Regular communication between ICS management and academy site teams ensures the service continues to adapt to the needs of each school.

Quality assurance is managed through regular site inspections, supervisor checks, and ongoing communication with academy leadership teams.

Cleaning operatives are trained in recognised cleaning standards and operate under clear service specifications to ensure consistency across the trust’s schools.

Feedback from site teams is incorporated into service reviews, allowing the cleaning programme to continually improve and adapt where required.
